Whodoyouknowhere goes to Richmond!
I GRABBED A BOOB IN PUBLIC!! To be honest I have no clue how this happened, I was very blacked out, but I am told by Colin that it was very unwelcomed and hilarious. The boob grab actually went down in Charlottesville around 2am on Saturday, July 26, but it was our great day in Richmond that made it all possible. Let me recap for you:

It all started on Saturday morning. Borghi went around the house waking everybody up. We needed to be in Richmond by 1:30 pm if we wanted to see our 48 hour film project film at the screening in a theatre. The 48 hour film project is a nationwide summertime film festival that goes down in several cities. You have 48 hours to write, shoot, and produce a 4-7 minute film. You also have some restrictions that you must obey. This year you had to have a feather in your film somewhere, a character named either Sylvia or Sylvester Barlow who is a classical musician, and the line “tell me, what’s the difference”. You also draw for genres of film e.i. comedy, drama, sci-fi, spy, etc… our genre was “silent film”. It was interesting to see how difficult it is to hold attention without talking.
At any rate, we hit the road around 12:30. We had to stop and get gas along the way so we ended up arriving a little late. The theatre it was showing in was the Byrd Theatre in Richmond. The Byrd Theatre is a beautiful old theatre and it was truly a treat to watch your own film airing there. We missed the first two films in our group, but got there in plenty of time to catch our movie. The whodoyouknowhere portion of the show was definitely the best. I sat next to Colin in the theatre, and since he was the most hungover of all of us I had to endure some pretty nasty farts and loud yawns during the other groups’ films. We left the showing feeling pretty good about our chances and headed across the street to Double T’s BBQ Restaurant. Double T’s is a great BBQ joint, and if you ever go there, just know that whatever you order: make it “Double T’s Size”. After a few Double T’s sized beers (34oz) we chatted it up with Mr. Double T himself. Double T is a delightful fellow who takes great pride in his product; he might also be losing it a bit in his later years. While asking Double T’s most attractive server, Erin, what to do in Richmond we came to realize that Richmond has something that Charlottesville doesn’t… STRIPCLUBS! Erin was quick to mapquest us some directions to Richmond’s finest stripclub… the Paper Moon.
The Paper Moon certainly did not disappoint. We got there and were greeted with the very reasonable $5 cover charge. Once we got inside I was even more surprised that beers were only $4 a piece. This is very reasonable compared to the $8-10 that you have to pay at other Gentleman’s Clubs. The dancers at the Paper Moon are second to none in ability and looks, so if you’re ever in Richmond you should check it out. www.papermoonclub.com
So after leaving the Paper Moon in broad daylight around 6pm, we hit the road back towards Charlottesville. We almost made it to the highway, but right before we got on the road back home we past the Richmond Braves’ stadium that donned a huge sign that read “GAME TONIGHT!!”. We took a vote and five minutes later we were at 7-11 buying various alcoholic beverages to sneak into the park.
We got into the park for the very reasonable price of $7 a ticket. None of us could ever figure out what team the Braves were playing, but we yelled the whole time that the Braves were whopping their asses. Just so all you ladies know, the key to Colin’s heart is minor league baseball, beer, and peanuts. The game ended 4-1 and we finally headed back to Charlottesville.
Once we got home we headed out to the bars and the rest is very unclear to me. The moral of the story is that Richmond is an awesome city, and you can have a great time there on a pretty sensible budget. Just don’t do what I did, and go out after a long day drinking in Richmond.
Love, Will
